Sustainability

"Sustainability means meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs."

The intent of Sustainable Construction is to apply this principle to the construction industry by providing ways for buildings to use less virgin material and less energy, cause less pollution and less waste but still provide the benefits that construction projects have produced throughout history.

Since inception, DesCor has been a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and more than 70% of our employees are LEED Accredited Professionals. The USGBC is a world leader in the advancement of Sustainable Design and Construction. Their core purpose is "to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life".

Sustainable Construction should not be seen as something exclusive to expensive projects. Our clients can benefit from even the smallest aspects of green construction principles without incurring additional costs and this should be seen as a step forward.

It has been well documented that Sustainable "Green" building practices yield more energy efficient buildings, increase employee productivity and satisfaction, and reduce employee absences due to illness. All of which translate into greater profitability.

DesCor Builders is committed to continually evaluating and improving our approach and end product.
